St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods is just north of the town of Freeland near the south end of Whidbey Island, about 25 miles north of Seattle and 6 miles from Everett. A pleasant and short ferry ride from Mukilteo (follow the signs on Interstate 5 from the north or south) will land you on Whidbey Island. The island may also be reached from the north by taking Highway 20 across the Deception Pass Bridge.
From the South: Once on Whidbey Island via the Mukilteo Ferry, follow Highway 525 north through Freeland (about 10 miles). Turn right at Honeymoon Bay Road. The church is about half a mile up Honeymoon Bay Road on the right, nestled in a grove of fir trees.
From the North: About halfway down the island, Highway 20 becomes Highway 525. Just before you get to Freeland, turn left at Honeymoon Bay Road. The church is about half a mile up Honeymoon Bay Road (look for the wooden sign on your right).
