I was raised in small towns in Ohio, son of a nurse and a minister in the Church of Brethren – so church was a constant in my early life. Collage was at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana where my main achievement was meeting my wife, Cathy. We raised our daughter Kristin while pursuing graduate studies at Indiana University and then jobs in Washington, D.C. After retiring in 2012, we began searching for a different environment. We found it here on Whidbey Island in 2016 and the community at St. Augustine’s was a significant part of that decision. We are grateful every day for our lives here together, with you.
