Acknowledgement of the SHET’LH-shet-lhuts as the original occupants of land.

St. Augustine’s in-the-Woods acknowledges that we occupy the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, of the Northern Lushootseed language group; in particular the SHET’LH-shet-lhuts (‘burnt leaves’). We stand with these and other indigenous people worldwide who are demanding restoration of their ancestral lands.
